Updation

Journal Entry: Fri Apr 21, 2006, 1:48 PM
I deleted a good majority of my deviations. Why you ask? Well, honestly, the quality of the prints were embaressing. I know I'm capable of much better. The few that I did leave up I either felt were decent or just no longer have...I'm bad about saving things. I will be reposting some of the old work over time, though it'll definately be a while before all of it's back up. In the mean time I have a ton of new work that needs to be put up. I'm still waiting for the latest edition of Photoshop from a friend. It's tough to get and even tougher to get around. But hopefully I'll have it soon.

For a while lately I'd lost sight of what I was doing. With everything that's going on, I felt, why bother with trying to get a BA in photography if I'm not good, or atleast not as good as I used to be? Two years ago I could walk around with my camera taking single shots and more than 75% of my exposures were worthy of printing and framing. Now I can use up to 3 rolls of film on a single subject and manage 2 or 3 great images. I realize now that A. It's easier to take single shots when it comes to found images, like my earlier work. When I try to set up scenes with models it takes an eternity and half the time the models are horrible. B. I need to stop taking the critisms of people on-line with no serious background. My professors love my work, so much so that one of my prints is in the process of being reprinted to perfection in order to be framed at school. This past Wednesday, at class, was a serious ego-boost just as I'd started giving up. Though the more I work with film the more I want to switch to digital. I'm beyond irritated with the grain in my photos and having to deal with scratches and then spot-toning them. Does it make me a bad photographer or possibly not even one at all if I hate the technicalities of film and printing in a darkroom? I'm eager to step into the world of digital... if only I had the money.

No prob! I adore it, I'm actually really interested in researching angels and demons and you're the first person to acknowledge the archangels correctly. It's a beautiful piece, it's absolutely amazing.

How's the Fallen Angel stuff coming? I've been feeling extremely creative lately. I'm getting all these ideas. I guess because we're almost done recording our CD and I'm getting very excited about moving forward that my mind is going double speed.

Can't wait to see more stuff!

Usually digital. I do fancy pencil work (either using my mechanical, prismas, or a soft lead). My newest is 3D using MAYA. I try to be well rounded. I got a long way to go :D
